Björk stole the spotlight at this year’s Sónar Barcelona. Having given a speech about her personal interaction with audiovisual arts as part of Sónar+D, the festival’s creativity and technology conference, on June 14, Björk also played a 4-hour-long DJ set in the evening. Held at SonarHall, the performance was crowded and impressive.
Björk frenzy in Barcelona isn’t limited to these events. Björk Digital, the virtual reality exhibition organized as part of Sónar+D, was opened at Barcelona Contemporary Culture Center (CCCB) yesterday. The exhibition utilizes virtual reality to understand and experience Björk’s idiosyncratic creative process. Comprising film, installation, performance and videos, the exhibition also displays Björk’s collaborative works with artists such as Michel Gondry, Spike Jonze and Alexander McQueen.
