Brand New Hopelessness by Şener Özmen

PİLEVNELİ Mecidiyeköy is hosting one of the most influential contemporary artists of our time, artist and writer Şener Özmen’s most comprehensive exhibition in Turkey so far titled “Brand New Hopelessness” to 12 May 2019.

“Brand New Hopelessness” takes upon a scene from George Lucas’s 1977 production, the first of the original trilogy, “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope” with the idea that “it somehow concerns him”.

“Brand New Hopelessness” offers a chance to get to know Şener Özmen’s new position among the worlds order and the balance he cannot maintain between life and art. The exhibition also allows its viewers to observe Özmen’s artistic pursuits from the past till now as a whole and to thoroughly understand the artist and his art.
