With the adaptation of the director İbrahim Çiçek who is one of the bravest people of the theatre world, Digital Stage combines sequences of the theater’s cult works with visual storytelling, bringing them to the digital world and providing a modern interpretation of classic works. The play, which will be staged this week, stars Selma Ergeç, Selin Şekerci, Ozan Dolunay, Kaan Yıldırım, Meltem Ceylan and Nejdet Sert
“A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, the last play of the series, reflecting Shakespeare’s dream atmosphere thanks to the presence of magical and fantastic characters, as well as the style and obscene environment of the forest, is presenting to the audience a brand new meaning.
Although most of the conflict in the game arises from love problems, and there are many romantic elements in the play, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is not exactly a love story. Shakespeare, who uses humor as the main element to reveal the pain and suffering experienced by lovers, prefers that the audience is lost in the absurdity of the story, rather than revealing their own lives. Love is a moving force, a character in its own right. It also moves couples and potential couples. It moves through the story, adding mischief and comedy to the play. But after the characters enter the world of magic, love’s relationship with reality is severed.
Asking, “Does true love exists?”, a sequence of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is available on The Zorlu PSM Youtube channel.
