We are stepping into the magical world of Remi Lamande. For Remi, who is a photographer and director, living on the Paris – New York line, being a photographer means being very lonely and very social at the same time. “It’s gaining people’s trust… I love that feeling when models feel like they can trust you, that they’re in good hands. It’s the best way to create great images together. I don’t want to surprise or trick people into doing anything, I want it to be a common journey…” Remi builds his work on joy, power and power relations between people and the key aspect in his world is “freedom”. Freedom to be unhinged… freedom to be sexually liberated…
“I don’t have a specific topic that I focus on, I get obsessed with a person or an image and I build stories around that which ends up creating a common thread because I’m attracted to specific feelings and qualities…” Courage stands in a quite subjective spot for Remi, who does not shy away from challenging himself in his visual world. “I think it’s good to be hard on yourself, as an artist you are your biggest support and biggest critic, nobody will hold your hand so I would never think that I’m doing enough…” In Remi’s world, images speak louder.
Do you care about people’s opinions on you?
How are you feeling these days?

How was 2023 so far?
Do you think you are true to yourself?
