Studio Ghibli’s Theme Park opens in 2020.

If you are a good kid, you may just catch a glimpse of Totoro.

The animation giant beloved by all, Studio Ghibli has announced the opening of its theme park in 2020. According to the news published on Japan Times, the Ghibli Park will be opened in the city of Nagoya and span an area of 200 hectares.

The park is designed based on My Neighbor Totoro by Hayao Miyazaki, one of Studio Ghibli’s most popular movies. Reflecting the spirit of the movie, the park’s main theme will be “respect for nature and embracing it.” Opened in Aichi EXPO Park, the theme park will be planned so as not to harm the local flora. Excitedly awaited by Miyazaki and Takahata fans, the park is a contender to rival Disneyland.
