With the adaptation of the director İbrahim Çiçek who is one of the bravest people of the theatre world, Digital Stage combines sequences of the theater’s cult works with visual storytelling, bringing them to the digital world and providing a modern interpretation of classic works. The play, which will be staged this week, features Birce Akalay and Serkan Altunorak.
“The Taming of the Shrew”, in which Shakespeare deals with the relationship of men and women in Medieval Europe and the concept of social status, is presenting the audience a brand new meaning.
The Taming of The Shrew examines the dynamics between men and women from a universal point of view, holding a mirror to how the obligations assigned to us by society direct our behavior with the awareness awakened in an absurd way. A cross-section of Shakespeare’s comedy work, where owning our personality becomes difficult day by day with countless expectations from around us, is presented to us through the amazing performance of Birce Akalay and Serkan Altunorak.
Asking, “How much do we have a say in the life of a stranger?”, The Taming of The Shrew is available on the Zorlu PSM Youtube channel on February 18th at 8 PM.
