Louis Vuitton Men SS25 – ‘Le Monde est à vous’

A tribute to culture, an ode to humanity, a love of detail… A symbolic place: La Maison de l’Unesco (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), a United Nations agency working to protect world peace through international cooperation in the fields of education, science and culture. Designed after the Second World War and inaugurated in 1958, this symbol of modern architecture has not aged a day.

The collection’s main goal is to honor every person that lives on Earth. Pharrell and Louis Vuitton bring Paris to the world by adopting an eagle’s eye view of the planet we live on, uniting the worldwide community through LV’s global mindset.

In the program, Pharrell unites audiences and creatives from all walks of life, fostering a feeling of inclusivity within the worldwide network around which the maison is centered. In keeping with Louis Vuitton’s culture, travel was a recurring subject. The modern traveler served as inspiration for the global dandy.

Pilots in the air, in particular, serve as the primary source of inspiration for uniforms, which evolve from flight suits to cropped fitted jackets to bombers. Initially, the collection was monochrome, ranging from dark black tones to earthy browns and greys. However, as it progresses, it presents a more vibrant interpretation of the globe’s iconic green and blue, highlighting the house’s global perspective, with fresh hues and design elements, the Damier and camouflage pattern are modernized. The designs are transformed into a snake-o-flage motif, riffing on the python cloth, as further evidenced by Pharrell’s jacket, which he donned during the performance. The designs further emphasize the global idea by turning the camouflage warp into a map-of-flage motif. The collection also has a strong football theme.

An original soundtrack: three tracks produced by the master of the house, of course. “Triumphus Cosmos” by Pharrell Williams, “Birds Don’t Sing” by Clipse featuring John Legend and “Falling Up” by Adekunle Gold, Pharrell Williams and Niles Rodgers. Performed by the Voices of Fire choir and L’Orchestre du Pont Neuf.
