Karl used tobacco, black and grey tones as main colors and he chose yellow, terracotta, blue and green tones as supplements. As materials, wool for jacket and trousers, leather, vinyl and fur for coats and chiffon for skirts are preferred to create masculine woman silhouettes. The way he formed and cut the designs made a strong impression, but the main thing that attracts attention was the usage of the iconic calligraphic Fendi logo that Karl designed in 1981. The Fendi logo embroidered panty-hoses appearance under the transparent skirts and the pereferred square shaped vinyl boots brought the perfect harmony to the looks. Again the Fendi logo embroidered silk foulards used as a belt bow. Baguette, Pequin and Peekaboo Bags were on the stage with their transformed versions. Baguette with the new pillow patent, Pequin covered with fur and perforated fabric Peekaboo brought a different perspective to vintage look with their new materials.
Hair and make-up in the show was overlapping with Karl’s beauty norms. Hair stylist Sam McKnight reflected Karl’s favorite hair style by choosing lower ponytails. Red and nude lips created the integrity with the clothes and were like the best representation of elegant Fendi woman.
Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Adwoa Aboah and Kaia Gerber were also on the runway. Artists and influencers all around the world were there to say goodbye to Karl for the one last time. The Karl Lagerfeld video in the final made everybody very emotional and received a standing ovation. Fendi AW 19-20 show took a place as one of the most remembered moments in the fashion history.
