Girls Run The World!

As women we generally find ourselves stuck in previously shaped norms… The roles imputed to us keep our true soul in the background… Nike’s new campaign points out exactly this issue. Starting out with the motto “Bizi Böyle Bilin”, Nike aims to inspire more woman and young woman to be more involved with sports. The campaign features Turkish National Basketball Team player Işıl Alben, National Tennis Player İpek Soylu, National Triathlete Esra Gökçek, Kicbox Player Funda Diken Alkayış, Dans Fabrika dancers and their leader Çisil Sıkı, performer Dilan Çiçek Deniz and Elbin Levinler. The movie, which is soundtracked by Beyonce’s song Run The World(Girls), shows woman reaching beyond the cultural constructs imputed to them in an impressive way. We see successful sportswomen challenging prejudice. In today’s world where women’s confidence in their talent, self-satisfaction and cultural encouragement is significantly less than men, Nike encourages us to go after our passions…
