Gucci SS’25 – Retro Vibes and Modern Lines

You know it, you love it. Gucci graced the iconic Triennale di Milan with its Spring/Summer 2025 Collection and invites us into a vivid dreamscape curated by Sabato de Sarno. Minimal, inspired and undeniably bold, the collection embodies Sabato’s whole identity—even feels like a biography at this point. From crisp, structured silhouettes to streamlined fabrics, every piece exudes a sense of controlled elegance that screams both heritage and novelty.

First things first, take a look at that runway! The show is a visual feast full of color degradation that could only be described as a glimpse into Sabato’s mind. The dominant color? Gucci Rossa. Synonymous with the brands identity, the painted setting acts as a garment which the show is painted on. Hypnotically present, the venue transported us not a parallel fashion dimension. Dream a little dream of Gucci where minimalism meets eccentricity.

Simplicity is at the heart of the collection. Yet, beneath the surface lies a subtle complexity in its presentation. Gucci intricately balances retro influences with modern aesthetics in silhouettes that scream out 60’s. The subtle nods to the 60s are evident through his signature use of A-line skirts, boxy jackets, and matching sets. Sabato demonstrates that he has mastered the art of reinterpreting iconic styles, stripping away excess ornamentation while retaining the essence of the era. Each piece feels fresh, meant for the wardrobe of today’s fashion-forward individual—cyclical fashion, done right.

Color palette is on-point, the playful hues match the design direction of the collection to make it into a whole. Not a single part was left out here! Two piece suits are the star of the collection with each feeling unique in its own way. On one hand you might find a true 60’s shape reimagined in a high-gloss finish and on the other there are clean neutral tones tailored for the modern luxury appeal. And accessories… Gucci reminds us that styling is all about them and shows the house’s character in matching leather gloves, sculptural shoes pointed toes and geometric bags. I cant go without telling, something tells me that David Bowie would’ve adored this collection.
