Started in 1994 in Barcelona, Sonar took place 55 times in 27 different cities to date. First edition in Turkey taking place in Zorlu PSM, Sonar Istanbul will focus on innovation and provide a future driven approach from arts and culture to business.

The art pop queen Roisin Murphy, will be one of the special guests of Sonar Istanbul with her impressive stage show that is enriched by historical costumes.
Combining her unique style with her music with authentic sounds, Nina Kraviz will be performing on Sonar Istanbul as the global techno ambassador!
Sonar Istanbul will provide a flawless program to it’s visitors, including the British producer Floating Points, who combines house, soul, hip hop, and jazz; Clark, a prominent figure in prestigious record label WARP Records; HVOB, who combines electro-pop with techno; the iconic dubstep producer Kode9; Prins Thomas with his eclectic sounds from the North; Nosaj Thing, who brings together hip hop and electronic music; the electro-soul duo HONNE; DJ Koze, who is known for combining styles such as techno, tech house, minimal techno and hiphop; and Weval, who brings together jazz, hip hop, krautrock, pop and funk.
Besides the global stars of the electronic music scene, talented local names like Hey! Douglas, Ah! Kosmos, İskeletor, DJ Style-ist, Büber, Villette, Fasitdaire, İpek Görgün, Biblo, Mabbas, Seretan, Fuchs & Cervus, Doğu Orcan and Vildan Gündüz will also take their places on Sonar Istanbul.
Sonar+D’s AUDIOVISUAL section will host artists that have stage performances that include experimental music along with strong visual elements. The program hosts Ryoji Ikeda’s “Supercodex”, Ali Demirel’s “The Pier”, Nonotak Studio’s “Shiro”, Acca’s “Rame”, Atay İlgün’s “Aesthetic Animism”, “OUCHHH X AUDIOFIL Data Performance” and “Cem + Rg Modular Live visuals by NOS.”
Exploring the dynamics of arts and culture and framed around creativity and technology, Sonar+D will also host mind opening panels titled “How to Foster Entrepreunalism in Turkey,” “Consuming Music 2017 and Beyond,” “Cultural Creativity,” and “Turkish Experimental Music Anthology.”
