Favorite Cartoon Character?
Spiderman.

What do you think it is about illustrations that make one’s heart feel giddy?
When I see a great illustration or piece of art, it immediately causes me to get excited and start examining its details. Then I feel almost upset that I hadn’t created it…

Do you work in series?
I don’t think I would call them series. My creative process is more of me creating different characters and then building stories around them. For a period of time I work and focus on a character and later on move on to something new. I never forget my previous characters and work though; I constantly incorporate them into my new pieces.

What is the decision process behind making an illustration, when you are doing one just for fun?
I start drawing from objects or textures that I love and then somehow it evolves into something I’ve never even imagined. It’s very therapeutic for me when I draw for fun.

What has been your favorite illustration that you’ve done?

As an illustrator what is your short-term goal?

To be back in New York and start painting large canvases!

What is your favorite childhood book?

The Little Prince.

What do you do on a rainy Sunday afternoon?

Movie day! Whether it’s at home or at the theater, I make a large bowl of popcorn and enjoy a movie! If I’m at home, I would probably have my sketchbook nearby and my cat Yoda on top of me.
