The winds of art blow from Switzerland. The Swatch x Tate Gallery collection brings together wearable works of art with strong expressions in a 7-piece collection.
Swatch is back with a new and imaginative collection, incorporating the spirit of the times, BMX, longboard and surf culture into its intricate details. The brand set out to tie a new knot in its long-standing bond with art. The brand symbolized free artists and artistic freedom with the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai. This year, Art Journey presents us with a 7-piece collection in collaboration with the world-famous Tate Gallery.
The gallery has featured the most important British representatives of modern and contemporary art since the 16th century. At the center of the exhibition is a collection of more than 70,000 artworks, including paintings, sculptures, installations and performances. At the same time, the gallery stands out as one of the world’s largest art lenders, with a mission to disseminate art.
The collection was designed to bring together the missions, authentic personalities and visual worlds of Swatch and Tate Gallery. 7 different watches consisting of 7 different works… Among the watches that generally have a maximal design language, one catches our eye.Inspired by JMW Turner’s “The Scarlet Sunset”, the watch combines an iconic landscape with Swatch’s components. With the transitions in the color of the sun and the water on the dial, we are greeted with a mood shift from day to night between its appearance and the emotions it conveys. It allows us to express the expressive power of art and fashion through our own bodies.
